Gwalior Adultration News: Gwalior (Napr). The officials of the Housing Board have reinstated the contract terminated with the contractor due to delay in the work of Food and Drug Testing Lab under construction at Sirol. Now the contractor has been given a deadline till May 30 to complete the work. The contractor will have to complete the remaining 60 percent work during this period. The building of this lab is being constructed at a cost of Rs.4 crore 96 lakh. With the start of the lab, samples of other districts of the region including Gwalior will also be tested here and their report can be received in a few days. In June 2020, the Housing Board officials had contracted the construction of the lab with Moolchand Jain, a resident of Murar. As per the work order, the contractor was to complete the construction of this lab building within 12 months. Due to the Corona lockdown, the deadline was fixed till March 2022 by extending the contract of the contractor, but despite this, only 35 percent of the work could be completed on the spot. In any case, the Housing Board had terminated the contract with the contractor on January 28 last, as it did not seem possible to complete the remaining 65 percent work by March 31. On this, the contractor submitted the work plan along with an affidavit that how he would complete the construction of this building by the end of May. Taking a decision on this, the Deputy Commissioner of the Board SK Suman has restored the contract of the contractor.
