Gwalior Drinking Water Supply News: Deepak Savita, Gwalior, New Dunia. Tenders are going to be issued soon to repair the leakages of Tighra Dam, the only means of drinking water supply in Gwalior, but this work will be done only when the water level of Tighra will be able to reduce. Due to this, the Water Resources Department is now waiting for the water level of Tigra to come down. Due to this, now this work will be completed in summer. The Water Resources Department has prepared a tender of Rs 17.42 crore to repair the leaks of Tighra Dam, its tender will be issued within a week. This time the company from outside the state will participate to repair the dam, because according to the works mentioned in the tender, the leakages of the dam will be removed and chemical will be added to the leaks by taking off the divers in the water this time.
At present, the water level of Tigra is more than 734 feet, while Tigra is filled up to 739 feet at its full capacity. At present, there is only 5 feet less water in Tighara. In such a situation, divers cannot go deep inside the water and treat it. At the same time, the color of the water of Tigra is also green and blue due to being washed away from the hills. Due to this, deep inside cannot be seen. There have been many leakages in the Tigra Dam built in the year 1916. Due to these leakages, lakhs of liters of water per day flows out of the Tigra Dam. To stop this water, the Water Resources Department has done maintenance work many times in the past, but even after this the leakages could not be stopped completely. Due to this, the Water Resources Department is going to issue a tender worth Rs 17.42 crore this time.
