Gwalior Swachh Survekshan 2022: Gwalior. New Zealand Representative. Out of 300,607 houses built in Gwalior Municipal Corporation limits, only 178,956 houses are connected to sewer network. While there are still 121,651 houses in the city which are not connected to the sewer network. These figures are given in the documents prepared by the Municipal Corporation for inclusion in the draft DPR for AMRUT Part 2. Even today the sewerage of the houses without sewerage network is either spreading in the open or reaching any drain or river. Whereas Gwalior Municipal Corporation has got the title of ODF Plus-Plus in Swachh Survekshan 2021. This time Gwalior is preparing for Water Plus.
There is an ODF plus-plus category in the Swachh Survekshan, in this category only those cities can be included, which are completely open defecation free. There should be sewerage network in the entire city. There is no sewerage in any drain or river. After cleaning the sewerage in the sewerage treatment system, that water is being released into the river or drain. But more than half the city of Gwalior is still not connected to the sewerage network.
There is no matching of sewerage in illegal colonies
In illegal colonies sewer line is put by colonizer. Whereas instead of matching these lines in the main line, these people do it in a drain or drain. Due to this, the sewer of the entire colony spreads in the drain or drain.
