Germany’s leading luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz today launched its new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in the Indian market. This luxury car has been introduced in two variants, whose made-in-India S580 4Matic model has been priced at Rs 2.5 crore and S680 4Matic has been priced at Rs 3.2 crore (ex-showroom, pan India). The new model is based on the latest V223 S-Class and gets a longer wheelbase of 180 mm. Its design matches the regular S-Class, but there have been some significant changes that make it a better Maybach limo.
Coming to the design of the new Maybach S-Class, the luxury sedan gets the signature Maybach front grille with multiple vertical chrome slats mounted in chrome boundaries. The Maybach logo on the C-Pillar is another highlight and the copious use of chrome can be seen on the underside of the bumper such as around the intakes on both the sides, and the 19-inch wheel design lends a classic appeal.
Apart from this, sharp LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, clean side profile with better shoulder line, large greenhouse, 3D crystal LED taillamps make this car even more beautiful. Carrying on the design and feature list of the standard S-Class, the interior also comes with Maybach-based updates.
Let us tell you that, this car is the second Maybach model from the company in the Indian market which has been introduced. Earlier, Maybach GLS was launched by the company in June last year. The cabin is also not far from the new S-Class though buyers get the option of Maybach exclusive interior trims and leather upholstery. Even the display and central touchscreen come with Maybach graphics.
Moving to the rear of the car, the longer wheelbase gives its occupants extra to stretch out. Powered rear seats have been given to the Maybach. On the other hand, the S680 gets the option to completely stretch out the separate seats – rear left passenger – separated by a full length floor console. The push of a button pushes the vacant co-driver seat forward with the reclining seat backrest and leg rests in place.
