Opener De Kock scored 54 runs in 38 balls while acting captain Nicholas Pooran scored 42 runs in 21 balls. In reply, on the basis of Mayank’s bowling, Lucknow registered its first win this season.
KL Rahul flopped as ‘impact player’
KL Rahul, who came to play as an ‘impact player’ in this match after handing over the captaincy to Nicholas Pooran, could not leave any impact. He flicked Kagiso Rabada’s ball down the leg side and Harshal Patel caught the ball while running from a distance and threw but Rahul narrowly escaped that he could not blow away the bails. Rahul hit a six to Arshdeep Singh and also hit a four on the next ball. However, Arshdeep got him caught by Jonny Bairstow at backward point, ending his innings of 15 runs in 9 balls.
