modi government Under the ‘Kisan Samman Nidhi’ scheme, the government deposits Rs 6000 in the bank accounts of about 11 crore farmers of the country three times a year. You might be surprised to know that it takes only 30 seconds for the Modi government to deposit money in crores of accounts. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself gave this information. He shared this information in response to a question from the country’s biggest TV host Rajat Sharma in India TV’s popular program ‘Salaam India’.
The Prime Minister said that this miracle has happened due to technology and far-reaching policies of the government. When I became Prime Minister for the first time, almost half the population of the country did not have a bank account. Then we first opened Jan Dhan accounts. The banks were initially reluctant but later the caravan started moving. The advantage of this is that today the money of the government’s Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme is being deposited directly into the bank account of the beneficiary. No middleman is able to steal even a single penny. During the Corona period, we provided help to crores of people without any hassle on the basis of this banking revolution. Today we are easily able to provide the benefits of government schemes to all the families of the country. In between, no one is able to eat their rightful money. All this has happened on the basis of technology.
What is Kisan Samman Nidhi?
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to the farmers. An amount of Rs 2,000 each is sent to the farmers’ account every four months in 3 installments. The scheme uses advanced digital technology to transfer benefits directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The ministry said that continuous improvements have been made in the farmer-centric digital infrastructure to make the scheme more efficient, effective and transparent to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach all the farmers across the country without the involvement of middlemen. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi portal has been integrated with UIDAI, PFMS (Public Financial Management System), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Income Tax Department portals.
