In this scorching heat, people’s condition is becoming thin, their body is getting drenched in sweat. Meanwhile, schools for innocent children are also running. It is often seen that children start bleeding from their nose due to extreme heat and sunlight. Do you know the reason? And what are the measures to prevent this?
Giving information to Local 18, Dr. P. Pritam Hansraj, ENT (Ear/Nose and Throat) specialist of Sakchi Nursing Home, Jamshedpur, said that the skin of small children is very thin. In summer their nostrils often start drying up, which is called nasal dryness. Children often keep putting their fingers in their nose, which damages the skin and causes bleeding.
How to treat it at home
Apply oil or Vaseline in front of the nostrils of children, so that the lining of the nose does not remain dry. Keep children’s nails cut from time to time. Wash hands thoroughly with soap in between, so that bacteria and germs can be avoided. If there is bleeding, ask him to hold his nose and breathe through his mouth. Avoid lying down, as this will cause more bleeding. Apart from this, ice can also be applied on the head. Include as many fruits as possible in the diet of children, which include hydrating fruits like watermelon, melon, cucumber and lemonade etc. Besides, it is also important to drink as much water as possible.
