On Tuesday, electricity supply was stopped on the connections of many such consumers in the city who had deposited the bill for the previous month. There is still a week left before the last date of submission of the bill for this month has passed. Still the connection was cut. Similarly, bills of old arrears are being sent to the consumers who have deposited money by applying in the resolution scheme.
On Tuesday, many consumers reached different zones of the power company whose power supply was stopped. All these were the consumers in whose place the electricity company has installed smart meters. The company cut off the power from the zone without informing. When the consumers sitting relaxed after filling the bill came to know that their connection has been disconnected, they reached the consumer zone with a complaint. Here he was asked to deposit the bill.
According to Abhishek Chauhan, one such consumer of Raj Mohalla zone, the last date for submitting the bill for this month is March 2. He said in the zone office that there is still a lot of time before the last date, so how can the connection be cut in such a situation. On this, the people of the zone said that the bill for the last month was due. He was shown the receipt for depositing the online bill of the previous month. After that the power supply was started.

Electricity officials are giving different reasons on the question of shutting off the power supply before the last date of payment. Earlier, the power zone was told that the Vigilance would have taken action to cut the connection on old cases of theft. When the consumer got agitated on this, the records were checked and it was told that the online payment of the old bill would have been late. It takes time to update to the online payment system. For this reason, the connections were disconnected as arrears. The zone in-charges said that the connections of the consumers whose complaints were received were also connected immediately.
no solution plan
Even in the loudly announced resolution plan for the arrears of old electricity bill by the government, the account of the electricity company has been disturbed. In the past, all the consumers have also paid 40 percent of the dues. The amount paid so far has not been reduced from the bills of such consumers. Only the inflated bill is being sent by adding arrears. The power company’s MD Amit Tomar and CGM Rinkesh Kumar Vaish declined to comment on the matter.
