Shashwat Singh/Jhansi. Due to busy life and changing lifestyle, people are becoming victims of hypertension. In Jhansi division itself, one out of every six people is suffering from hypertension. Hypertension is also called silent killer. If this disease is not treated at the right time, there can be a risk ranging from paralysis to heart attack. The risk of hypertension is increasing among the youth.
Senior doctor of Jhansi District Hospital, Dr. D.S. Gupta said that hypertension is directly related to blood pressure. If the upper blood pressure is more than 140 and the lower blood pressure is more than 90, then it is called hypertension. The serious problem is that 80 percent of the patients do not see any symptoms. That is why it is also called silent killer. Some patients show symptoms like headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain.
There may be a risk of heart attack
Dr. D.S. Gupta said that every day 30 patients come to OPD who want treatment for hypertension. If blood pressure is not under control, there may be a risk of heart attack or heart failure. He told that by doing regular exercise and keeping weight balanced, one can stay away from hypertension. Along with this, control salt, stay away from alcohol and smoking. Get enough sleep and stay away from stress.
