Hindustan murder in Manipur
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the central government over the situation in Manipur. Rahul alleged that ‘Bharat Mata’ has been murdered in this northeastern state. People who do this are ‘traitors’. He participated in the discussion on the no-confidence motion against the government in the Lok Sabha. Rahul targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not visiting Manipur. He claimed that the Prime Minister does not consider the state to be (part of) India. The Congress leader also said that India has one voice amidst the tokatoki of the members of the ruling party. He said that if this voice is to be heard, then ego and hatred have to be discarded. He made this statement in the House after the Lok Sabha membership was restored. Rahul thanked the Lok Sabha Speaker for restoring the membership. Rahul Gandhi mentioned the experience of his visit to Manipur. He accused the government that you have killed India in Manipur…. have killed Mother India and they cannot be the protectors of Mother India. The former Congress President also alleged that you are a traitor, you are not a patriot…. That’s why your Prime Minister is not going to Manipur. They have killed India in Manipur. He said, “You are not the protector of Mother India, you are the killer of Mother India. On this, the Lok Sabha Speaker said that no such word should be spoken about Mother India which is not appropriate.
Rahul said – You have divided Manipur
Rahul said that Bharat Mata is my mother too. One of my mothers (Sonia Gandhi) is sitting here and the other is Bharat Mata. During this, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi was present in the House. The former Congress President said that a few days ago I went to Manipur. Our Prime Minister has not visited Manipur till date because for him Manipur is not (part of) India. He alleged that today’s reality is that you have divided Manipur and broken it. The Congress leader alleged that this government has ‘sprinkled kerosene’ in Haryana and many other parts of the country. Rahul Gandhi said that Indian Army can bring peace in a day, but you (government) do not use Indian Army. He accused the government and the prime minister of arrogance. The Congress leader said that Ravana used to listen to only two people… Meghnath and Kumbhakarna. Similarly, Prime Minister Modi only listens to Amit Shah and Adani.
Smriti surrounds Rahul on ‘flying kiss’
Smriti Irani hit back at Rahul Gandhi’s comments regarding the Central Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Union Minister on Wednesday raised the issue of 1984 anti-Sikh riots and unrest in Kashmir and atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits. He said that the history of Congress is stained with blood. The Union Minister said that the opposition is not concerned with the safety of women, welfare of the poor, the interests of the youth and the development of the country. Participating in the discussion on the no-confidence motion against the government in the Lok Sabha, Smriti Irani said that the whole country saw that Rahul Gandhi talked about killing Bharat Mata. Congress people were thumping the table here, this has never happened in parliamentary history.
Irani raised the issues of 1984 anti-Sikh riots and unrest in Kashmir and atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits and Emergency during the time of the Congress government at the Center amid the talk of opposition members. He targeted the previous Congress governments. Union Minister Smriti Irani, in response to a statement by Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, said that Manipur is not fragmented, not divided, it is an integral part of the country. Smriti Irani also claimed that the speaker before her, the Congress MP (Rahul Gandhi), had behaved indecently while leaving the House. Such conduct has never been seen in Parliament. Irani said that those who (Rahul Gandhi) were given the right to make a statement before me today did an indecent act while leaving. He alleged that it can only be a misogynist who can give ‘flying kisses’ when there are women members in Parliament. Irani said such disrespectful behavior has never been seen in the House of this country.
From Indira to Rajiv, Shah targeted everyone
Finally, Union Minister Amit Shah stood up to participate in the discussion on the no-confidence motion. Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the opposition parties, especially the Congress. Shah alleged that most of the religious and racial riots in the country took place during the tenure of former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of doing politics in Manipur. Referring to the history of racial violence in Manipur, Amit Shah alleged that in 1993 and 1997, even worse violence had taken place in Manipur. Amit Shah said that using Article 356, President’s rule is imposed in the state when the Chief Minister or the state government does not cooperate. Shah said that the Center changed the DGP of the state. The Manipur government accepted that decision. The Center also changed the Chief Secretary of the state. The Manipur government accepted that decision as well. He said that the Chief Minister of Manipur was cooperating with the Central Government, so the Chief Minister was not removed. While giving a speech in the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the no-confidence motion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit back at the allegations of several other opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Nitish Kumar, Akhilesh Yadav and Supriya Sule.
Referring to the meeting of Rahul Gandhi and Kalavati, Shah said that there is a leader (Rahul Gandhi) in this House who was launched in politics 13 times, but failed 13 times. The Home Minister took a dig at the renaming of the opposition alliance. Shah said that this had become the identity of the UPA because of scams during its 10-year tenure. So they were left with no other option but to change the name.
