BJP has taken action against party spokesperson Nupur Sharma for making controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad. The party has suspended Sharma from the primary membership for 6 years. In this case, Delhi BJP’s media head Naveen Kumar Jindal has also been blamed. He too has been expelled from the party.
Questioning the action, the Congress has said that the BJP has to take this step under the pressure of the Middle East. It would have been better if such action was taken only after the protests in the country. Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala issued a statement describing this action of BJP as “the cat went to Haj after eating nine hundred rats”.
“Is the BJP trying to atone for its immeasurable sins or is it more chameleon like posting?
Will the bulldozing of India’s soul, its ethos and its all-encompassing humanity by the bulldozer of hatred finally stop?”
The only solution is #BharatJodo

Randeep Singh Surjewala’s statement read, BJP today said that it is not against any ideology which insults any religion or sect. This is an openly fake excuse that is clearly visible and nothing more than an attempt at damage control. It is said that the cat went to Hajj after eating nine hundred rats.
The Congress’s response further said, “The fact is that the BJP has pushed India into a dark age of religious polarization in a very short time to maintain its narrow political agenda. The BJP and its leadership need to reconsider the irreparable damage it is doing to the country’s politics because of its lust for power.
Let us inform that the controversial remark of Nupur Sharma has now become an international issue. Sharma’s statement is being condemned all over the world. Qatar-Kuwait and Iran have expressed their displeasure over the issue by summoning the Indian ambassadors. Karat has called Nupur Sharma’s statement an insult to Muslims around the world. At the same time, it has specifically expressed the hope that the Government of India will immediately condemn these comments. Before Qatar, the Grand Mufti of Oman also surrounded the BJP over Nupur Sharma’s statement.
