All the MLAs of AIMIM will support Yashwant Sinha, the opposition candidate in the presidential election. Party chief Asaduddin Owaisi himself has given information about this by tweeting. He said that the vote of all our MLAs will go to Yashwant Sinha. He also told that Yashwant Sinha had called him. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge appealed to all the opposition parties to unite in the fight against BJP.
Kharge said, “More than 17 parties are supporting us. We all must unite in our fight against BJP to save India’s democracy and protect our Constitution. We are all in favor of Yashwant Sinha.”
Let us inform that Yashwant Sinha filed his nomination on Monday (June 27, 2022). During this, several opposition leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah were present.
In a letter on Friday, Sinha thanked and assured all opposition parties for unanimously choosing him as the presidential candidate. He said in his letter, “I thank you for your trust. I assure you and the people of India that, if I am elected, I will faithfully uphold the core values and guiding ideals of the Indian Constitution, without fear or favour.
On the other hand, the tribal woman Draupadi Murmu has been nominated by the NDA for the post of President. He had filed his nomination on June 24. Murmu is a tribal woman and apart from being a minister in the Odisha government, she has also been the governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021. The election for the post of President of India is to be held on 18th July and the counting of votes will be done on 21st July.
