West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday visited the violence-hit Rampurhat area of Birbhum. CM Mamta Banerjee met the victims of violence. For those whose homes have come in the grip of violence, CM Mamta Banerjee announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh.
Violence erupted in the area after TMC’s Panchayat leader Bhadu Sheikh was killed in Rampurhat area. The miscreants torched 10-12 houses in the area in which 10 people were burnt alive. SIT has been formed to investigate the violence that broke out in Birbhum. At the same time, the opposition parties are accusing the Mamta government of failing to stop the violence.
