Manish Tewari, MP from Anandpur Sahib and senior Congress leader, congratulated Bhagwant Mann on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab. Manish Tewari said that due to the ongoing session of the House, he would not be able to be a part of the swearing-in ceremony. At the same time, he took a sarcasm and said that Charanjit Singh was not invited to Channi’s swearing-in ceremony.
Congratulating Bhagwant Mann on being sworn in as Chief Minister, Manish Tewari tweeted on Wednesday, “Thank you for inviting me to the swearing-in ceremony, I will not be able to come there as Parliament is in session. However, it is ironic that I was not invited for the swearing-in ceremony of Charanjit Singh Channi when he was one of my MLAs.
Channi was heavily criticized after Charanjit Singh Channi addressed the people of UP-Bihar as ‘bhaiya’ during an election rally in Punjab and made remarks about not allowing them to enter the state. This statement of Channi was also criticized by Manish Tewari. Manish Tewari had called Channi’s statement unfortunate and institutionalized social bias. Apart from this, Manish Tiwari has been giving opinion outside the party on many issues.
During the Punjab Assembly elections, there was speculation about Manish Tewari’s resignation, on which he said that he is only a tenant in the Congress, he is a shareholder. Manish Tewari had said that if someone shows him the way out, then there will be another case. Tiwari had said that he has given 40 years of his life to the party.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwat Mann took oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab on Wednesday. During this, all the leaders of the party including AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal have been present. Aam Aadmi Party created history by winning 92 seats in the Punjab Assembly elections.
