With this, the number of infected in the country has increased to 4,29,87,875 while the number of patients under treatment has come down to 40,559. The Union Health Ministry gave this information in the updated data made on Saturday morning at 8 am. According to the ministry, due to the death of 89 more patients during the last 24 hours, the total number of people who lost their lives due to the COVID-19 epidemic in the country has increased to 5,15,803.
According to the data, the number of patients under treatment against the total infected is only 0.09 percent, while the recovery rate from COVID-19 at the national level has also improved further and has reached 98.71 percent. The ministry said that the number of patients under treatment has come down by 1,660 during the last 24 hours. According to the data, 3,604 new cases were reported on 12 May 2020, after that this is the lowest number of cases in a day. The ministry said that so far 4,24,31,513 patients have been cured while the mortality rate is 1.2 percent.

Meanwhile, more than 179.91 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in the country so far. It is noteworthy that on 7 August 2020, the number of infected in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020, 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November.
On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, crossed 30 million. On January 26 this year, the cases had crossed four crores.
