Indian Railways is going to open its own food plaza apart from IRCTC. Apart from this, Railways will open fast food units and multi-cuisine restaurants. All these things will be opened from station to station by the railways. It will be introduced at larger and more congested stations first. Later the project can be prepared for more stations by the Railway Board.
According to an order issued by the Railway Board, such a decision has been taken by the Railways to increase the non-fare revenue. Explain that the Indian Railway Tourism and Catering Corporation (IRCTC) looks after the catering system in the Railways. Along with this, IRCTC mainly looks after the operations of trains. IRCTC was mainly designed to reduce the burden of the Railways.
Why was the decision taken?
Earlier this work was given to IRCTC, but such a unit could not be set up by IRCTC. Due to which Ravel has suffered a great loss. Now this responsibility has been given to the Zonal Revle. The March 8 order said that 17 zonal railways should use the vacant space at stations for such units.

It has been said in the order from the railway that food plazas, fast food units, multi-cuisine restaurants will be opened by the zonal railways on the vacant, unused space available at the stations. On the other hand, if someone wants to open this unit, then he will have to take permission from the Zonal Railways. Railways further said that there are many such places at the stations, which are not being used and railways are suffering. It will be opened from place to place in a span of 1 year with review.
150 units can be opened
According to the information, the Zonal Railways is planning to set up 100-150 such stationary units. At the same time, officials say that IRCTC has not been able to open such a unit due to high rate of rail land, license fee and other problems.
