The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday delivered its verdict on the hijab controversy. The High Court dismissed all the petitions related to the Hijab controversy. The court said that hijab is not an essential part of Islam. It is mandatory to follow the rules made by schools regarding uniforms. Several Muslim organizations disagreed with the court’s decision. Asaduddin Owaisi also said that he is not happy with the High Court’s decision and will go to the Supreme Court against it.
Asaduddin Owaisi was giving an interview on Aaj Tak news channel regarding the decision given by the Karnataka High Court on the Hijab controversy. During the interview, Asaduddin Owaisi said that seeing the uniform it is known whether it is Thakur’s daughter or Jatav’s daughter. He said, “Uniform is not there in many schools. Does the uniform not tell whether the girl student is the daughter of a Dalit, the daughter of a poor father or the daughter of a rich father? Does wearing a uniform not indicate caste whether the student is the daughter of a Thakur or the daughter of a Brahmin?”
On the answer of Asaduddin Owaisi, the anchor asked him that by looking at the face, you tell whether Thakur’s daughter or Brahmin’s daughter? In response, Owaisi said that he gets to know in school. He said, “Why did Muslim girls go to the court that we want to wear hijab with the uniform, we used to wear it earlier. The court gave the practice of religious imperative. Church schools in England have the freedom to wear the hijab.”
After this the anchor asked Owaisi whether the courts of this country have become anti-Muslim? In response, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “I am not saying this. I disagree with the High Court’s decision. I had also disagreed with the Supreme Court’s decision on the Ram Mandir decision. Under the Constitution of India, I have the right to disagree with the court’s decision.”
Owaisi Karnataka High Court On the decision of the said, “We do not agree with the decision of the Karnataka High Court. It violates Article 15 of the Constitution. High Court has said that hijab is not a necessary religious practice but who will decide it? That’s why we will go to the Supreme Court against this decision. This decision will have negative repercussions and Muslim women will be targeted at places. Under the freedom of conscience in the Constitution, we are allowed to wear our hijab and also get education.
