The per capita income in Telangana has more than doubled in the last eight years. Telangana tops in terms of average economic development among the states of South India. It is continuously providing free electricity to the agriculture sector. In the last eight years, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Telangana has increased from Rs.4 crore 51 thousand 580 crore to Rs.11 lakh 54 thousand 860 crore.
During the years 2015 to 2021, the average economic growth rate in Telangana was 11.7 percent, which was the highest among the states of South India. During the last eight years, the per capita income in the state has increased from one lakh 24 thousand 104 rupees to two lakh 78 thousand 833 rupees. The per capita income of the state is 86 percent more than the per capita income of the country. The state of Telangana ranked first in the country in terms of growth rate per capita electricity consumption.
A record 21.8 million tonnes of paddy has been produced in Telangana. Telangana’s agricultural production has increased eight times in the last eight years. The food production of Telangana has become at par with that of Punjab. It set up seven thousand procurement centers to procure food grains this season. It is the only state in the country which has bought all the food grains produced by its farmers.
Telangana ranks first in cotton production in the country. This is the only state in the country that has made available certified seeds online to its farmers. The storage capacity in Telangana has increased from 9.9 lakh tonnes to 31.9 lakh tonnes during the last eight years. Telangana is the only state in the country which has suspended traffic tax on tractors, trolleys etc.
Telangana government is providing pension to senior citizens, single women, widows, weavers, AIDS patients and physically challenged people. To increase the production of milk in the state, farmers are being given an incentive of Rs.4 per liter. The state government is giving an honorarium of five thousand rupees per month to ten thousand imams and clerics. The state government started the Dalit Bandhu scheme for the all-round upliftment of the Dalits.
The government has done away with the requirement of approval for construction of 75 square yard building and Rs 100 is charged from them as house tax. 973 Gurukuls have been established in the state which are providing international standard education to five lakh students. In Gurukul, the government spends Rs.1.25 lakh on each child.
The state government is working towards opening one government medical college in every district. 1200 check dams have been set up to revive rivers, lakes and springs in the state. Telangana government is developing all the temples and religious places. Hyderabad has been ranked as the safest city in the world and has become a favorite destination for all investors.
