In Punjab’s Faridkot, news of pro-Khalistan slogans has been written on the wall of a sessions court judge’s house. Please inform that Punjab Police is investigating in this matter. It is worth noting that recently on June 6, outside the Golden Temple in Amritsar, a crowd of some people raised slogans in support of Khalistan.
Let us tell you that pro-Khalistan slogans have been written in black ink on the walls of the Sessions Judge’s house in Faridkot. Regarding this, Faridkot SSP Avneet Kaur Sidhu told news agency ANI, “A video of SFJ activist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has surfaced and slogans are written on the walls. CCTV cameras are being checked.”
Posters of Bhindranwale on the anniversary of Operation Blue Star: Actually on June 6, a video surfaced, in which pro-Khalistan slogans were being raised in the crowd. At the same time, posters of Bhindranwale were also seen in the hands of a large number of people. Significantly, many fundamentalist organizations had called a bandh in Amritsar to mark the anniversary of Operation Blue Star in 1984. In such a situation, the Punjab Police had made the security system more strict. During this, about 7 thousand soldiers were deployed in the city.
Khalistan: Actually Khalistan means the land of Khalse, with the independence of the country, the demand for a separate Sikh nation started. The name of this nation was named Khalistan by Punjab Sikh separatists. This movement saw a lot of momentum in the 1980s and 1990s. However, by 1995 the Government of India got control over it and since then the movement could not take off.
However, movements are still seen in a very small form today against the common people killed during Operation Blue Star. Some Indian Sikhs and migrant Sikhs still demand Khalistan and are campaigning for it.
