Former Union Minister Sharad Yadav has vacated his residence at 7, Tughlaq Road in Lutyens’ area of Delhi. Here he lived for 22 years. On Tuesday, after vacating the bungalow, Sharad Yadav indicated that he had no intention of retiring from politics. He said the struggle would continue.
After vacating the bungalow, Sharad Yadav is living in his daughter’s house in Chhatarpur, Delhi. Sharad Yadav, 74, had recently merged his Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) with the Lalu Prasad-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). While talking to The Indian Express, he gave his opinion on all the issues.
Sharad Yadav was asked that how do you rate Narendra Modi, who has completed 8 years as Prime Minister? In response to this question, he told The Indian Express, “It is not important what and how the present government is doing. What is important is that the opposition should stick together so that there can be checks and balances on the functioning of the government.
He said that it is a matter of concern that the issue of temple (Gyanvapi matter) is being raised. This will lead to discord in the two communities of the society. After all, issues like this had not been raised before.
On the other hand, on the scattering of opposition unity against BJP, Sharad Yadav said that it is not so, even before this many times success has been achieved through opposition unity. Although it is a difficult task. Serious effort will have to be made for this. And this is the demand of the country. He said that our democracy, constitution and country need opposition unity. I told Rahul Gandhi about the need for opposition unity. Which is very important for democracy.
Apart from this, Sharad Yadav said about Tejashwi Prasad Yadav that he is now emerging as a very good leader and has developed very well as a leader. He works hard and people like him too. I wish him a very bright future.
