The film ‘The Kashmir Files’, which tells the story of displacement and atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits, is setting new records of success at the box office. On the other hand, there is a lot of political rhetoric about this film. Omar Abdullah, former CM of Jammu and Kashmir (now Union Territory) and vice-president of the National Conference, said that different types of lies have been shown in the film ‘The Kashmir Files’.
Omar Abdullah said, “Farooq Abdullah was not the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir when Kashmiri Pandits left here, at that time there was governor’s rule. Jagmohan sahib was the governor then and there was a government of VP Singh in the country which was supported by BJP. But why is this not shown in the film?
Omar Abdullah raised the question, “BJP was behind VP Singh, why it is not shown in the film, Farooq Abdullah is shown. Playing with the truth is not a good thing. Kashmiri Pandits have died here, we are very sorry for that but haven’t Kashmiri Muslims died? Has the Kashmiri Sardar not died?”
At the same time, users gave different reactions on Twitter on Omar Abdullah’s statement. One user (@divya_2377) wrote on Abdullah’s statement, “The arrow has hit the target, all these who once shy away from speaking about Kashmiri Pandits now believe that was wrong.” Similarly, another user (@aradwadramakant) wrote, “Of course everything was right, but who killed the Pandits?, who made them run away? Tell me this too.”
There are many reactions on social media regarding ‘The Kashmir Files’. At the same time, the opposition parties are accusing the BJP and the central government of spreading propaganda through this film. Two days ago, PM Modi had praised this film. At the same time, he also targeted those who opposed the film. Let us tell you that in 7 days, this film has earned more than 97 crores at the box office.
