On the one hand, while the police officers no longer consider these boxes relevant, on the other hand they are told about a written complaint for action.
Recently, a case of intimidation of Siaganj traders by the policemen of Kotwali police station came to light and in this also the police officials said that the traders did not file a written complaint. Therefore, once again the complaint box in the city has become a topic of discussion. In the present situation, the complaint boxes have been disappeared and the numbers of police officers have also not been displayed in public places, markets etc. This has reduced a major source of information for the police. It is noteworthy that the purpose behind putting up the complaint box was to send a written complaint to the police keeping the identity of the person concerned confidential.
