New Delhi. A big change has happened before IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya is ready to play for Mumbai Indians once again. Cricket fans are surprised that he took such a big decision while being the captain. Mumbai acquired Pandya for a whopping Rs 15 crore, with MI adding Cameron Green to the RCB squad to bring Hardik with them. Now this star all-rounder of Team India is a part of Mumbai Indians. The decision making process behind Hardik’s move has been revealed.
Before the announcement of IPL 2024 player retention list, Hardik Pandya had offered some conditions to Gujarat Titans. However, the franchise rejected his offer. According to media reports, Pandya decided to leave Gujarat Titans because the franchise refused to give him 50 percent of the profits from the advertisements secured for them.
If reports are to be believed, Hardik Pandya had informed this information to the owners of Gujarat Titans. However, the team refused to meet the star all-rounder’s demand, leading to Pandya deciding to return to his former IPL team, Mumbai Indians. After playing for Mumbai for seven years after his IPL debut, Pandya has served as captain of Gujarat Titans in the last two seasons, winning the championship in 2022 and finishing as runners-up in 2023.
Hardik Pandya started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in 2015 and played for them till the 2021 season. He played an important role in Mumbai Indians winning the title in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. His IPL statistics are impressive, he has scored 2309 runs at an average of 30.38, which includes 10 half-centuries. His best innings in the league is 91 runs. Besides, he has also taken 53 wickets in IPL.
