Indian team’s star leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is playing for Rajasthan Royals team in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the match played against Gujarat Titans on April 10 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Yuzvendra Chahal gave 43 runs in his 4 overs but also managed to take 2 wickets in his name. With this, Chahal also broke the 13-year-old record of former Rajasthan Royals team captain Shane Warne in IPL.
Chahal becomes third highest wicket taker for Rajasthan Royals
With 2 wickets in the match against Gujarat Titans, Yuzvendra Chahal has now reached the third place in terms of taking most wickets while playing in IPL for Rajasthan Royals. Chahal became a part of the Rajasthan team in the 2022 IPL season, since then he has taken 58 wickets for Rajasthan while playing in 36 matches. Whereas Shane Warne, who played as captain for Rajasthan Royals team from 2008 to 2011, took 57 wickets in 55 matches. The record of taking most wickets for Rajasthan Royals in IPL is currently in the name of Siddharth Trivedi who has taken 65 wickets in 76 matches. At second place is the name of Shane Watson who has taken 61 wickets in 78 matches.
Chahal just 3 steps away from the mark of 200 wickets
Yuzvendra Chahal currently occupies the first place in terms of taking most wickets in IPL, in which he has taken 197 wickets at an average of 21.25 while playing in 150 matches. Now Chahal is just 3 steps away from the figure of completing 200 wickets in IPL. If Chahal is successful in achieving this feat, he will also become the first player to create this history in IPL. Rajasthan Royals team has to play its next match this season against Punjab Kings on 13 April.
