Rohini court has issued non-bailable warrants against five absconding accused in Jahangirpuri violence case. After hearing the side of the police, the court has extended the remand of the five accused for eight days. While four other accused often, Mohd. Ali, Ghulam Rasool and Sheikh Hamid have been ordered to be sent to judicial custody till April 30.
Rohini-based Metropolitan Magistrate Mayank Goyal’s court has extended the remand period of Ansar, Sonu, Salim, Ahir and Dilshad, the alleged main conspirators behind the violence, by eight days. Sonu was seen in a video while firing during the clash. These accused were produced in the court after the expiry of their three-day remand period. Meanwhile, the court issued non-bailable warrants against the accused Sanwar Kalia, Saddam Khan, Anwar, Chand and Salman.
In fact, on behalf of the police, the court was told that these five accused are absconding. Many efforts were made to catch them but they are not coming. Thereafter, the court ordered the issuance of non-bailable warrants against them. The court has asked the remand accused to be produced before the court on May 1 through video conferencing. Their remand period will end on May 1.
To take the accused on remand, it was argued on behalf of the police that this conspiracy is very big. The National Security Act (NSA) has been imposed on these accused. The layers of conspiracy have to be uncovered by confronting the accused. At the same time, they also need to be questioned to connect the whole incident. The police told the court that the role of each accused in the violence is also to be ascertained. In addition, to trace the source of illegal weapons used in the alleged crime. Clashes broke out between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in Jahangirpuri on Saturday, in which eight police personnel and a local resident were injured. According to the police, stone pelting and arson took place during the clashes and some vehicles were also torched.
