After losing from his home constituency Jodhpur in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot is contesting from the second seat this time. The seat of Vaibhav Gehlot, who is trying his luck from Jalore Sirohi, seems to be stuck at the moment. Phalodi betting market claims that he may also lose the election. However, Vaibhav Gehlot is making every possible effort to win. This time his campaign is quite different from before. Not only the Congress workers, but his father and former CM Ashok Gehlot along with his wife Himanshi Gehlot and daughter Kashwini Gehlot are also engaged in the election campaign. Therefore, the entire Gehlot family does not want to leave any stone unturned this time. The former CM is continuously holding meetings with Congress workers and leaders. Vaibhav’s wife Himanshi is busy in wooing women and voters of Mali community. His daughter Kashwini is also trying to inspire the youth.
Lots of challenges in front of Vaibhav
Congress candidate Vaibhav Gehlot faces many challenges. The biggest challenge is BJP candidate Lumbaram Chaudhary himself. Lumbaram Chaudhary is a very normal and simple person. In such a situation, the people of Jalore-Sirohi area are greatly affected due to his low-profile behaviour. Congress candidates seem to be failing in challenging BJP’s election management and the visits and campaign strategies of national leaders. However, this time BJP has fielded Lumbaram by canceling the ticket of its three-time MP Devji Patel. This is considered a strong seat for BJP. BJP has been winning here for the last four elections.
External issue is gaining momentum
Originally from Jodhpur Lok Sabha constituency The biggest challenge facing Vaibhav Gehlot, a resident of Jalore-Sirohi Lok Sabha seat, is believed to be his being an outsider. Because while on one hand BJP is making it a big issue, on the other hand a section of Congress is also very upset with Vaibhav Gehlot contesting elections from Jalore. They may have to bear the brunt of this in this election. However, Congress leaders claim that this type of sentiment is not present among Congress leaders and workers and the party is engaged in damage control in every situation.
Mathematics of Jalore-Sirohi
From here in the last 2019 Lok Sabha elections B J P Its candidate Devji M Patel had won. He defeated the Congress candidate by 2.61 lakh votes. However, the contest in the 2023 assembly elections was equal. There are eight assembly seats in this Lok Sabha, out of which BJP and Congress have four seats each. This Lok Sabha constituency has been formed by combining five assembly seats of Jalore district and three assembly seats of Sirohi district.
Rajendra Gudha will spoil the game!
Political enmity between Lok Sabha elections 2024 is now openly visible. Rajendra Gudha, who was famous across the country due to the Lal Diary episode and was once a minister in the Gehlot government, will now campaign against Vaibhav Gehlot, who is contesting from Jalore-Sirohi. Gudha, in his capacity as the Rajasthan Coordinator of Shiv Sena, said that even in Rajasthan, amidst the National Alliance, Shiv Sena BJP Will support on all 25 Lok Sabha seats.
Attacking former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Rajendra Gudha said that Ashok Gehlot made his home on Udaipurwati seat and campaigned against me in the assembly elections, now the time has come to repay his debt. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has given me the responsibility of campaigning especially on Jalore-Sirohi seat. In such a situation, to repay the assembly election debt, he will now campaign with full force in Jalore-Sirohi. Therefore, a large section of the Rajput community whose votes Congress is expecting may go in favor of BJP because of Rajendra Gudha.
