Srinagar. Three terrorists have been killed in an encounter with security forces in Nowgam area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district. This information was given by the officials on Wednesday. Police said that the three accused belong to the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
“Two more terrorists have been killed. Incriminating material including arms and ammunition were recovered from them. Search is on,” police said.
Earlier, J&K Police had tweeted, quoting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, “The banned terrorist organization Lashkar/TRFK terrorists involved in the recent killing of Sarpanch of Khanmoh, Sameer Bhat, trapped in the Nowgam encounter.”
Based on specific inputs, a joint team of police and security forces cordoned off the area where terrorists were present and launched a search operation.
As soon as the security forces reached the hideout of the terrorists, they opened fire in defense. With this the encounter started between the two.
