New Delhi. Anti-corruption agency Lokayukta has launched a major operation in Karnataka, in which more than 100 Lokayukta officials have raided 60 places in 13 districts of the state. In Bengaluru alone, raids are underway at five places including the residence of BBMP Chief Engineer Ranganath.
So far, Rs 6 lakh cash, 3 kg gold, diamonds worth Rs 25 lakh and ancient artefacts worth Rs 5 lakh have been recovered in the raids. Besides, property documents have also been seized. Over 100 Lokayukta officials along with 13 superintendents of police and 12 deputy superintendents of police are conducting simultaneous raids at 60 locations including Bengaluru, Bidar, Ramanagara and Uttara Kannada districts.

This comes after similar raids conducted in January, where Lokayukta officials searched government officials at 40 locations in connection with 10 corruption cases in Tumkur, Mandya, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Koppal, Vijayanagara, Ballari, Hassan, Chamarajanagar and Mangaluru.
