The Kashmiri Pandit Teachers’ Association has given its opinion on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claim that the government will regularize the services of migrant teachers of Kashmir. In which he has called this claim as misleading. According to the Kashmiri Pandit Teachers’ Association, he was regularized as per the orders of the court, while Arvind Kejriwal was against it and tried to obstruct the court several times to stop it. Government School Teachers Association (Migrant) Registered condemned Arvind Kejriwal’s statements and stated in a phased manner that, Kashmiri migrant teachers had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on 6 June 2010 seeking regularization, on 18 May 2015, the Delhi High Court The Supreme Court judge ruled in favor of the demand for regularization of the services of Kashmiri teachers.
After this, the decision of regularization of the High Court was challenged by the Delhi Government in the Double Bench, while on 21 May 2018, the Double Bench of the Delhi High Court ordered the Delhi Government to regularize the services of Kashmiri Pandits.
The association further said that the Delhi government had repeatedly assured to regularize the services of Kashmiri migrant teachers as per the orders of the Delhi High Court, but despite this, the Delhi government challenged the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court as well. Then on 26 October 2018, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition of the Delhi Government challenging the order of the Delhi High Court.
Finally, when the Delhi government was left with no option, the services of Kashmiri Pandit teachers were regularized on 23 January 2019.
In fact, a few days ago, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had mentioned in an interview that, when Kashmiri Pandits reached Delhi after being homeless, many of them had taken the job of teachers on contract basis in the Delhi government in 1993. In the meantime, there were different governments, but the Aam Aadmi Party government gave solid jobs to the Kashmiri Pandits, without beating the bluff.
Apart from this, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi had also claimed that Arvind Kejriwal had done a lot for Kashmiri Pandits, permanent status to 223 teachers, streamlined pension system even in the absence of documents.
