Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet in Uttar Pradesh is yet to be announced. There is a possibility that the Bharatiya Janata Party can make Keshav Prasad Maurya as Deputy Chief Minister again. Along with this, the party’s state chief Swatantra Dev Singh can also be given an important post in the cabinet. The BJP has achieved a historic victory for the second time in a row under the leadership of Yogi.
The Times of India report quoted BJP sources as saying that a final decision on this is yet to be taken. At the same time, another Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma can be replaced by a Brahmin face, Brijesh Pathak or someone else. It is reported that on March 24, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a big decision can be taken regarding important posts. Sources said the party is also considering a third deputy chief minister’s post. The name of Baby Rani Maurya, MLA from Agra Rural, is leading for this post.
According to the report, the BJP is considering preparing the Yogi cabinet keeping in mind the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to political experts, due to the weakening of Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party, the BJP is also trying to win over the Dalit vote bank, which is looking for new options. Similarly, the decision to include state unit chief Singh in the cabinet is also being linked to non-Yadav OBC votes. This section is believed to have been loyal to the party since 2014.
What about Dinesh Sharma?
According to the report, sources said that if Swatantra Dev Singh is included in the cabinet, there is a possibility that Sharma may be made the state BJP chief. He further informed that leaders like Shrikant Sharma, Siddharth Nath Singh and Jai Pratap Singh, who were involved in the previous government of Yogi, can be made ministers again. Apart from this, there are discussions that Suresh Khanna may be appointed as the next speaker.
