New Delhi. If you want to start the new year with a new Maruti Suzuki car at your home, then you should think once again. The reason for this is that the company is going to increase the price of its vehicles once again next year. In such a situation, if you want to bring a Maruti Suzuki vehicle to your home at the current price, then you have a month’s time i.e. December 2021. The company itself gave this information. Today, on Thursday, December 2, India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (Maruti Suzuki India Limited) said that the company can increase the price of its vehicles from January 2022.
Price will increase differently on different models
The company said that they plan to increase the price of their vehicles from January 2022. However, this increase in price will vary according to different models. In such a situation, the price of a model may increase more, then the price of a model may increase less.
Reasons for increasing the price of Maruti Suzuki
However, the company has not given any reason for the increase in the price of its vehicles. But according to a recent report, the reason for this is related to the production cost. According to the report, the cost of production of vehicles has increased significantly in the last few years. The biggest reason for this is the lack of semiconductor chips in the country. Due to the Corona epidemic, the problem of semiconductor chips has arisen not only in the country but all over the world. In such a situation, due to foreign dependence in this matter, many industries have suffered, including the automobile sector. Due to this the production cost also increased significantly. Due to this, the company suffered a loss of 9% in sales on a month-to-month basis last month.
Along with this, the increasing popularity and demand for electric vehicles across the country has also seen a decline in the sales of the company’s petrol-diesel vehicle segment. In such a situation, the company is planning to increase the price of its vehicles from the beginning of the year to compensate for this loss.
Even before this the company has increased the price
Maruti Suzuki has earlier increased the prices of its vehicles to some extent in January this year, then in April and then in November. The increased cost was applied to passenger vehicles as well as commercial vehicles, due to the increase in production cost over the years.
