Lok Sabha elections will be announced on 19th April. People will use their votes to elect the MP of their area. Also, as the elections approach, political parties have announced the names of their candidates. Some of these seats are such that a fierce competition can be seen, one such seat in Rajasthan is Nagaur, where a close contest can be seen between the BJP and the alliance candidate on this seat. Let us inform you that BJP has made Jyoti Mirdha its candidate on this seat, while India Alliance has placed its bet on RLP candidate Hanuman Beniwal.

Please note that Mirdha and Beniwal had earlier contested elections in 2014 and 2019 also. BJP has experimented several times to win Nagaur seat, yet BJP has won this seat only thrice in 1997 by-election, 2004 and 2014 elections. In the last election i.e. 2019 election, Hanuman Beniwal, the joint candidate of BJP and RLP alliance, had won. Whereas, if we talk about Congress, it has won this seat 10 times.
This seat is the stronghold of Jat votes
Nagaur seat is traditionally considered the main stronghold of Jat politics. If we talk about the caste equation on this seat, there are more Jats then Muslims. Apart from this, there are also a good number of Rajput, SC and original OBC voters here. The Mirdha family has dominated the Nagaur seat for a long time. Nathuram Mirdha family belongs to Jat community, this family is considered very influential in Jat society. The record of becoming MP from this seat maximum 6 times is in the name of former Union Minister Nathuram Mirdha. Jyoti Mirdha is his granddaughter.
