Maha Shivratri 2022 Puja Vidhi: Lord Shiva is also known as Mahadev. He is one of the main deities of Hinduism. Maha Shivratri falls in the month of Falgun according to the North Indian Hindu calendar and in the month of Magha according to the South Indian Hindu calendar. On Maha Shivratri, devotees remember Lord Shiva by meditating on prayers, fasting etc. Devotees stay awake all night while others visit Shiva temples or go on a pilgrimage to Jyotirlingam. How to fast on Maha Shivratri
The day before Maha Shivratri, devotees should eat only one meal, most likely on Trayodashi. On the day of Mahashivratri after finishing the early morning rituals devotees should take sankalp i.e. resolve for self-determination and seek the blessings of God before starting to finish them successfully.
Method of Shiva Puja
Install Shivling at the place of worship for worship. You can also make a temporary Shiva Lingam using flour or clay. After giving shape to Shiva Linga, perform the rituals by offering milk, rose water, sandalwood paste, curd, honey, ghee, sugar and water. Offer a garland of bilvapatra on the Shiva Linga and then apply sandalwood or kumkum and show incense-lamp to Lord Shiva. Devotees can also offer flowers.
