Kolkata. Despite all the requests of Congress, Mamata Banerjee has completed preparations for her party TMC to contest elections on all 42 Lok Sabha seats of West Bengal. According to sources, Mamata Banerjee is going to announce the names of candidates for all the Lok Sabha seats of West Bengal today. Mamta Banerjee had said long ago that she would not give more than 2 seats to Congress in her state. Congress was demanding at least 5 seats there. Only after this, Mamata Banerjee had announced to contest elections alone on all 42 Lok Sabha seats if there was no agreement with Congress on seat sharing.
Mamta Banerjee has already been giving continuous statements against the left parties. That too, when his TMC and Left parties are part of the opposition alliance. There is an agreement between Congress and Left parties in Bengal since long. In the West Bengal Assembly elections also, Congress and Left parties had jointly fielded candidates against TMC. Mamta Banerjee had targeted Congress at that time also. Now, if TMC candidates are fielded on all the seats from their side, it may create ruckus in the opposition alliance.
According to the information, Mamata Banerjee will not contest TMC elections only in Bengal. She can also field TMC candidates on some seats in Assam and Meghalaya. Due to this, TMC will compete with Congress in these states also and other NDA parties including BJP can benefit from the electoral conflict between the constituent parties of the opposition alliance. Now everyone’s eyes are on what kind of reaction comes from the Congress if Mamata Banerjee fields candidates on all the seats in Bengal and what effect it has on the opposition alliance.
