Maruti Dzire CNG: The country’s largest automaker Maruti is the largest company not only in the petrol lineup but also in the CNG segment. While models like Alto, S-Presso, WagonR, Eeco, Celerio and Ertiga currently get the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit under the company’s Arena dealerships, reports suggest, the company is also going to include the DZire in the list. .
What’s the update at launch
According to a viral video on the internet, the dealer staff and mechanic training of the Dzire CNG has already started, which suggests that the launch of the CNG Dzire compact sedan can be done by the middle of this year. However, the testing mule of the CNG-equipped Dzire has been spotted several times in the past as well. Talking about the design of the CNG version of Diazer, then this sedan will look similar to the current model. However, a CNG sticker badge can definitely be found at the rear.
2022 Maruti Dzire CNG
Notably, a factory fitted CNG kit is already available with the Maruti Tour S, which is the fleet cab version of the DZire. At the same time, according to the leaked specification of Desire CNG some time ago, this car will be equipped with 1.2-liter K12M VVT petrol engine. Which will be capable of producing 71 Bhp of output and 95 Nm of peak torque on the CNG model. This engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Available on two trims
The 2022 Maruti Dzire CNG will be offered in the mid-spec VXi trim. It could also be offered with the ZXi trim and will include features such as touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, engine start/stop system, multifunction steering wheel and power-adjustable ORVMs.

How expensive will the CNG model of Desire be?
In terms of pricing, when launched, the DZire CNG will take on the CNG-powered variants of its closest rivals such as the Tata Tigor and Hyundai Aura. As of now, the CNG variant of the DZire is expected to cost Rs 70k-90k more than the standard trims. The 2022 DZire compact sedan is currently priced between Rs 6.09 lakh and Rs 9.13 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, in terms of mileage, like other Maruti vehicles, the DZire CNG will also be the highest mileage car in the segment.
