Congress claims, oil prices will increase after elections
Congress leader Alka Lamba said that the price of milk has been increased by Rs 2 each on the first day of March and it is a setback for children and women. He said that the price of commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been increased by Rs 105, which has crossed Rs 2000. There is a apprehension that soon after the elections are over, the rates of domestic cooking gas will also be increased by Rs 27, he said. The Congress spokesperson said that the BJP has conceded defeat in the Uttar Pradesh elections as cooking gas rates have been hiked in Uttar Pradesh even during the assembly elections and people are going to punish the ruling BJP over the issue of prices.
Talking about GDP rates, he said it has come down to 5.4 per cent in December-October from 8.5 per cent in the previous quarter. Lamba alleged that development is only on paper and in political speeches of BJP leaders and in rhetoric, but not at the grassroots level. Common people are bearing the brunt and unemployment is increasing. The Congress has always taken the issue of hike in the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG seriously, he said.
