new Delhi. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the opposition was pressurizing for discussion on Monday on inflation and trade union strike, so the Speaker adjourned the house.
Ramesh, the party’s chief whip in the Upper House, said, “It is really extraordinary that a few minutes before 11 am, as soon as the opposition MPs got up to raise the issues related to the price hike and the trade union strike, the Hon’ble Chairman immediately adjourned the Rajya Sabha. Postponed. Clearly, the Modi government does not want any discussion.”
Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 12 noon amid uproar by the opposition over discussion on increased fuel, cooking gas price, inflation and other issues.
