In fact, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal to include several people from the tribal community of Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in the category of Scheduled Tribes. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda gave information about this. Arjun Munda told the media that the proposal which has been approved today was actually pending for the last several years. He then said that due to some spelling errors and similar sounding names of many communities, it was not being brought under the ST category for a very long time.

During this, the cabinet has approved the proposal to add Brijia community in the list of ST in Chhattisgarh. On the other hand, five sub-castes of the Gond caste of the country’s largest state Uttar Pradesh such as Dhuria, Ojha, Nayak have also been included in the ST category. The castes which were included in this calculation will definitely get the benefit.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda has told that Brijia community has been kept in the category of Scheduled Tribe in Odia and Jharkhand and it is not so in Chhattisgarh. After this he said that all the formalities in this regard have been completed. The cabinet approved the proposal of the ministry by introducing a bill in the Parliament to include the Kuravikkaran community of Tamil Nadu under the category of Scheduled Tribes.
