Born on 11 April 1962 in a Bhumihar Brahmin family, AK Sharma is originally from Mau district of UP. He joined BJP in the year 2021 after taking voluntary retirement. At that time he had two years left in his term. He was elected to the Legislative Council. After this he became the state vice president in the organization. AK Sharma was very active in many districts of Purvanchal including Varanasi during the COVID period. He was discussed for a long time to get important responsibilities in the government.
