The Meteorological Department said on Monday, Monsoon will cover the entire Andaman Sea, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Middle East Bay of Bengal in the next two to three days. Monsoon is usually active in these areas on 22nd May. This time it has become active six days back. At the same time, in Kerala it can reach five days before the normal date.
The capital is still expected to get relief from heat wave

At the same time, the states of North-West and Central India are also expected to get relief from heat wave. The department said that heat wave conditions are likely to decrease in these states. In the next 24 hours, there will be rain in Kerala, northeastern states and hill states of the north.
The IMD said here that the southwest monsoon advanced towards Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Monday. This marks the beginning of the four-month rainy season which is crucial for the predominantly agro-based economy.
The Met Office said that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and adjoining areas are receiving rain due to strengthening of southwesterly winds in the lower levels of the troposphere. The onset of monsoon over Andaman and Nicobar Islands was delayed by a day. The IMD had earlier said that there would be seasonal rains in the region on May 15.
“The Southwest Monsoon is likely to advance into some more parts of South Bay of Bengal, entire Andaman Sea and Andaman Islands and parts of east-central Bay of Bengal during the next 2-3 days,” the IMD said in a statement. Circumstances are favorable for it.
Under the influence of a Western Disturbance over Central Pakistan, light/moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The Meteorological Office had also forecast hailstorm at different places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The IMD has forecast early onset of seasonal rains over Kerala on May 27, five days ahead of the normal onset date of June 1.
With the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep and North Tamil Nadu coast, very widespread rain/glow/thundershower/gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places over Kerala, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka during the next five days. The Met Office said heavy rains are likely over Tamil Nadu from Monday to Wednesday and in the Lakshadweep region in the next two days. The IMD said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on Wednesday.
