Summary
In the notice issued by the BMC, it has been said that for the unauthorized construction in the bungalow, give a valid reason why such a change has been made.
Union Minister Narayan Rane’s troubles are not taking the name of lessening. The Shiv Sena-ruled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued notice to Union Minister Rane and sought his reply within seven days. This notice of BMC has been issued regarding the alleged unauthorized alteration of his Adheesh bungalow in Juhu.
In the notice issued by the BMC, it has been said that for the unauthorized construction in the bungalow, give a valid reason why such a change has been made. The notice mentioned unauthorized alterations to the ground floor of the bungalow and seven of the eight floors. A BMC official says that from the first floor to the 8th floor (except the 7th floor), rooms have been built instead of the garden, while according to the rules, all the floors of the eight-storey bungalow are required to have a garden area.
It is worth noting that a BMC team had recently inspected Rane’s ‘Adhish’ bungalow for violating the norms of the Coastal Regulatory Zone (CRZ). Thereafter a notice has been issued to Rane under section 351(1) of the BMC Act 1888. The notice issued by the BMC K-West ward official said that the changes made in the bungalow were not in accordance with the approved plans. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 351(1) of the BMC Act, it is directed to show cause as to why the alterations in this building should not be demolished.
