New Delhi: From the platform of AnyTV’s Leadership Conclave ‘Rising Bharat 2024’, Union Home Minister Amit Shah made it clear on Wednesday that no one will lose their citizenship due to CAA i.e. Citizenship Amendment Act. He assured that the Muslims of the country need not be afraid. To create a vote bank, the opposition spread the illusion that due to CAA, Muslims will lose their citizenship and their right to vote will be taken away. CAA is not a law to take citizenship but to give it.
Amit Shah said, ‘After the passing of CAA, a huge misunderstanding was spread in the country and in the meantime Covid arrived. We are in a democratic country. When misunderstanding is spread about something true, then the party in power has the responsibility to convey the truth to the people. They (Muslims) were misled by the opposition. To create their vote bank, the opposition spread the misconception that CAA will take away the voting rights and civic element of the minorities of this country, especially the Muslim brothers and sisters. Whereas it is the opposite. No one is going to lose their citizenship due to CAA.
‘The more abuses Modi ji receives, the more the lotus blooms’, on what opposition statement did Amit Shah say?
He further said, ‘CAA is a law to grant citizenship. Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Hindu… all the brothers who have come from three countries after being tortured, have been sitting here for years, they do not have citizenship. They cannot buy property in their name, cannot take government jobs. How will they live their lives? Congress had no answer to the problems of crores of people. She was busy in the politics of her vote bank and spread the complete misconception that the Muslims of the country will lose their citizenship due to CAA.
Clarifying, Amit Shah said, ‘I want to clarify once again that the Muslims of this country do not need to be afraid. CAA is not just a law to take, it is a law to give citizenship. And as far as CAA is concerned, at the time of independence, Congress, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Azad, Sardar Patel and Rajendra Babu… all had promised that we will give citizenship to all the refugees who will come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The Congress party did not fulfill that promise. We are fulfilling that promise. In a way, it is the implementation of Nehru-Liaquat Pact. But Rahul ji has nothing to do with these historical documents. He is a leader who speaks after reading chits. So many things do not come in the chit.
On Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal’s allegations on CAA, Amit Shah said, ‘There is a difference between infiltrators and refugees. I tell everyone, Kejriwal ji, Rahul ji and Mamta ji, that if you are worried about the jobs of the youth of the country, then why don’t you speak about Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas. Why does the tongue get stitched? That’s why you don’t want to hurt your vote bank. Those who are refugees come after being tortured.
