Narmadapuram. The bridge over the Sukhtawa river in Narmadapuram district connecting Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal with Nagpur could not bear the weight of a 138 wheeled trolley and collapsed. Due to this the road connectivity between Narmadapuram to Nagpur has been snapped. According to the information received, the accident happened when the 138 wheeler was passing through the bridge of Sukh Tawa river on the Betul-Bhopal highway. There was a power grid on this trolley which was being taken from Hyderabad to Itarsi. A part of the bridge completely collapsed and the trolley fell directly into the river. There is no water in the river yet. There is no information about casualties in this accident.
Itarsi’s Sub-Divisional Officer Police M.K. Chouhan has confirmed the accident and said that the police team has reached the spot and relief and rescue work is going on.
Due to the breakdown of this bridge, Narmadapuram has lost its contact with Betul, due to which the traffic going from Bhopal to Betul and Nagpur is being affected. For which route the vehicle should be removed, there is a preparation to remove the traffic from the changed route.
