The government has been working for a long time to stop unwanted fake calls in the telecom sector. The company also introduced AI feature to stop fake and spam calls but this did not help much. Now the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI has introduced a new rule which will come into effect across the country from September 1, 2024.

From September 1, new rules for SIM cards will be implemented across the country. After this, we can also get rid of fake calls. Let us tell you that TRAI has now fixed the responsibility of telecom companies for fake calls. If a customer complains to the company about fake calls, then the telecom companies will have to take responsibility for it.

According to TRAI’s report, if anyone uses his personal mobile number for telemarketing calls, his mobile number will be blacklisted for 2 years. Actually, the number series 160 has been started by the government to prevent financial fraud, but people are still getting promotional calls from personal numbers.

strict action will be taken
