New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi has developed a lot of Northeast and BJP has got a chance to form governments in most of the states there, but very few of you would know that the CMs of the BJP’s four states had left the Congress. All these are successful leaders and because of them BJP has become very strong in the Northeast. The latest name among these leaders is Manik Saha. The BJP leadership suddenly decided to make him the CM instead of Biplab Dev. Manik Saha had switched from Congress to BJP in the year 2016. He was made the state president of Tripura BJP in 2020 after 4 years. He was in the Rajya Sabha. Manik is a Dentist by profession. He has also been elected the President of Tripura Cricket Association.
Now let’s talk about Assam. Here Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma became the CM in 2021. He was given the place of Sarbananda Sonowal. Himanta was also in Congress earlier. He joined BJP in 2015 after getting angry with Rahul Gandhi. Himanta had led the BJP to strong victories in the 2016 Assam Assembly elections and the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He is the 5th time MLA from Jalukbari seat of Assam. In the last assembly election, he had won by 101911 votes.
Manipur CM N. Biren Singh also left Congress and joined BJP in 2016. A year later, when the assembly elections were held and the BJP won, Biren was made the CM. He is the first CM of BJP in Manipur. Before the CM, Biren was a minister in the Ibobi Singh government of the Congress. Biren Singh, who was a football player, has also been in BSF and also has journalism. He has become MLA for the 5th time from Hingang seat.
Now let’s talk about Nagaland, where Neiphu Rio is sitting on the CM’s chair with the help of BJP. He had parted ways with the Congress in the year 2002. Neiphu, who became the CM most of the times, left the government of SC Jamir after a dispute over the Nagaland problem. He then joined the Naga People’s Front. Then the alliance going with the BJP became the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland. In 2003, the coalition won the election. Neiphu then became the CM for the first time. After this, he was also the CM in 2008, 2013. In January 2018, Rio joined the National Democratic Progressive Party after the alliance broke with the BJP. He allied with BJP and then won the election and became a bean. Rio had entered politics in the year 1989.
