new Delhi. On Saturday, at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, Kashmiri Pandits once again raised their voice for justice and registered their protest. The demonstration took place under the banner of Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora, All India Kashmiri Samaj. Congress leader Vivek Tankha also joined the protest and demanded justice for Kashmiri Pandits.
In fact, whenever there is a discussion about Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits, the eyes of millions of people of the country become moist. Recently, a film The Kashmir Files has also reached the cinema houses, after which this issue has come up once again.
Congress leader Vivek Tankha said that when justice is not given for 32 years, there will be protests. Lakhs of people migrated, women were raped, many people died and houses were burnt but did anyone get punished? Anyone daring to go back? We cannot go to Kashmir and is not safe even though we are Indians.
The Government of India used to have a responsibility at that time and it is still a responsibility. We travel all over the world thinking that we will go back to Kashmir. We are sitting today because do justice to us.
Apart from this, Kashi, the coordinator of the NCR region of the global Kashmiri Pandit expatriate, said that, we have kept our demonstration at Jantar Mantar so that we can fulfill the demands and raise our voice to the government. We have been given the name of the migrant which is acceptable to us. For 32 years, no discussion about our displacement took place inside the Parliament. Till date no legal action has been taken against the murderers, they are roaming freely.
Till date the Government of India has not taken cognizance of the displacement of Hindus of Kashmir. The state governments also ignored our issues. We Hindus in Kashmir should be settled in one place and be safe, also we should have a political voice.
In 1989, Pandit Tika Lal Taplu, a leader of Kashmiri Pandits, was assassinated in Srinagar. A few months later, in 1990, Hizbul Mujahideen, in an Urdu newspaper published from Srinagar, asked Hindus to leave the valley and after growing fear the Hindus decided to flee, seeing atrocities on Hindus in Kashmiri. had also started.
However, after more than 30 years, once again the voice of justice for Kashmiri Pandits is being raised. According to the information, there were 75,343 families in Kashmir in January 1990. Between 1990 and 1992, more than 70,000 families migrated from the Valley. According to estimated figures, 399 Kashmiri Pandits were murdered between 1990 and 2011.
