Jaipur . Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot may have praised himself by beating the drums of good governance and financial management and thanking himself for his daily budget speech to his supporters, but in Rajasthan’s bureaucracy, Gehlot’s management has been exposed. One after another, experienced and senior bureaucrats going on deputation to Delhi shows that in the third year of his third term, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has failed to win the trust of the bureaucracy.
First of all let’s talk about IAS Ajitabh Sharma. After becoming CM for the third time, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave posting to IAS Ajitabh Sharma in CMO, but after promotion, Ajitabh Sharma went out of CMO, then went on the way to Delhi via Mines Department and Jaipur Metro.
After this, if we talk about the root of the dispute, then IAS Niranjan Arya was made the Chief Secretary, surpassing the seniority of eight senior IAS posts. Many additional chief secretaries are out of the secretariat, so IAS Rohit Kumar Singh decided to go to Delhi. Now a new name has been added after Ajitabh Sharma and Rajesh Yadav to Sandeep Verma and his IAS wife Shreya Guha. IAS Rajesh Yadav has been relieved, while Ajitabh Sharma is waiting for a new posting at the centre. In Delhi, if the names of Sandeep Verma and Shreya Guha are added to the officers going on deputation to the center, then in total 17 senior IAS officers have gone to Delhi. Rest of the Additional Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant is also in line.
If we now talk about the main root of the dispute, then the main reason is the public quarrel between the factions of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot in front of the people of the entire state and the country. The people of the state saw the quarrel between the Gehlot Pilot faction for one to one and a half years and the state in-charge of Congress Ajay Maken has been changing his statements time and again after getting gritty. Later, when the box of cabinet and political appointments was opened, efforts were made to reach out to the supporters of Gehlot and Pilot faction. But the quarrel did not end there. Independent MLAs and MLAs without posts, even today, be it the assembly or any platform, do not miss to target the bureaucracy. Because bureaucracy runs by rules and regulations, be it Congress MLAs or BJP MLAs, the MLAs exert pressure on the bureaucracy according to their power. But bureaucracy does not violate the rules and laws for the fear of going to jail.
But this time in the third term of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, independent MLAs have not lost their pressure on the bureaucracy. Independent MLAs are busy trying to get their desired work done by pleading to save the government. But when success is not achieved, then in the session of the assembly, they do not miss to target the bureaucracy.
At the same time, the biggest reason for the disillusionment of the bureaucracy with Rajasthan is that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is not able to win the trust of the bureaucracy in his third term. One after the other, senior IAS officers are waiting in line to go to Delhi. If sources are to be believed, then Principal Secretary to Government Kuldeep Ranka is also unable to support his fellow officers. Behind this can be considered the arbitrariness of the personal staff of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the pressure of Delhi Durbar.
