Mahant Yogi Adityanath, who left home at the age of 18, is going to take over the command of Uttar Pradesh for the second time in a row. Amidst the ongoing preparations for the swearing-in of CM Yogi, his sister has made an emotional appeal. Yogi’s sister Shashi Singh on Wednesday appealed to Yogi Adityanath to come home and meet his mother. Shashi also remembers the time when Yogi left the house. Recently, when he was shown a picture of a sister selling tea on a TV channel, Yogi had said that the people of UP are his family.
Born in Panchur village of Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, Ajay Singh Bisht left home at the age of 18. He got the name Adityanath in the Math of Gorakhpur itself. Yogi’s sister Shashi Singh said in an interview to Times Now that when Yogi left the house, he had not told that he was going to become a sanyasi.
When Shashi Singh, who runs a small tea shop in her village in Uttarakhand, was asked how people react to the UP Chief Minister’s sister running a tea stall, she said that her family does not like nepotism. He said that in other parties all the family members come into politics. “It is not in our family… it becomes familism,” he said. We do not want this, and he also says the same thing, (earn yourself and eat).
When Shashi was asked what message she wants to give to her brother, she said that she appeals to the brother to come and meet the mother once. Shashi recalled how he had told his father to think not only of the family but also of others. In response, the father said that he earns only Rs 85 and it is not possible to think of others. According to Shashi, on this the father said, “Let us see what you do… Now he (Yogi) has done it.”
