Ahmedabad . Confident that the BJP will form the government for another term in Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said his government’s plans do not discriminate on religious lines and will not tolerate anyone who tries to violate the state’s policies. .
In an interview, Patel said that Narendra Modi is one and no one can match his work. Patel said, “We have to work under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. It is not possible to work like Narendra Modi and no one can match the work he is doing at the global level. Whatever Modi has done, He has made us proud.”
Patel said the BJP has no challenge from anyone in the assembly elections to be held at the end of the year. “The BJP organization and the government are working together for the people and taking the work of the organization to the people on the ground,” he said.
Highlights of the interview:
Question: Apart from development, what are the other issues on which people will elect the BJP government for another term?
Patel: The BJP government is working with a basic concept keeping in mind the common man so that the benefits of welfare and development schemes reach the far-flung people of the state. The government has worked to ensure that maximum benefits of the government reach everyone. We are also going ‘door to door’ with those schemes and checking which schemes should be implemented and are beneficial for the people. We are also giving them information about various government schemes from door to door.
Q: What are the things that you think will be a game changer in Gujarat?
Patel: We are here (in power) for a long time. Now we have started working on green energy and zero carbon. Mainly we are focusing on Electric Vehicle (EV)/Battery and we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan worth Rs 10,400 crore and started working on it. We have also signed an MoU of Rs 5 lakh crore for green energy and the work has started. We are working on both as it has many advantages. This also reduces the dependence on petrol and we have already started working on green energy and we hope that it will benefit us.
Question: The BJP government at the Center is working on the policy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, but there is a lot of discussion about minority communities in Gujarat. What will you say?
Patel: My way of working is different. There is only one policy of our government that no one should suffer and our government is making every effort to improve the life of every citizen. Gujarat’s plans and policies are for all religions. Gujarat has a policy and we will not tolerate anyone who breaks the policies of the government.
Q: Why is your government planning to teach ‘Gita’ in schools?
Patel: It is too early to discuss this. After reading everything we will talk and decide. This question should not be raised now.
Question: In the last elections, the Congress gave a tough fight to the BJP. How do you see the challenges facing the opposition, including the Congress, in this year’s election, as many new parties are coming up, planning to contest the assembly elections?
Patel: Local body elections were held before the assembly elections. BJP has won all the district panchayat elections. There is no challenge from anyone. BJP organization and government are working together for the people.
Question: Has the party set any target of the number of seats it will win in this year’s assembly elections?
Patel: What the Gujarat BJP president has said can happen. I am a positive person and never fight elections to defeat anyone, but to win. I fight elections to win every seat, not to defeat anyone.
Question: Is there any possibility that the BJP may field a large number of new faces in the assembly elections like your cabinet?
Patel: Not even a Chief Minister in BJP has faith in ticket and you are asking me about others.
Q: How do you see the prospects of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Gujarat Assembly elections?
Patel: Everyone has the right to contest elections in a democracy.
