Islamabad. Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa while addressing the Islamabad Security Dialogue has called for dialogue with India to resolve all disputes. Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the dialogue on Friday. The conference discussed emerging challenges in international security under the theme ‘Comprehensive Security: Reimagining International Cooperation’. Pakistani and international policy experts attended the conference.
The Islamabad Security Dialogue is hosting 17 international speakers from the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Russia, the European Union, Japan, the Philippines and others.
Acknowledging the efforts of the National Security Division to organize the second Security Dialogue, COAS General Bajwa said, “I believe that today more than ever we need to develop and promote spaces for intellectual debate where People from all over the world come together to share their thoughts about the future of their country and the world at large.”
He said places like this hold special significance where great men can recognize the need for global cooperation rather than confrontation.
Talking about the unprecedented challenges being faced by the world, he said that the resurgence of inter-state conflicts amidst the common global challenges of poverty, climate change, terrorism, cyber infiltration and resource crunch is the big question for the international system.
“The collective security of the international community rests on our ability to integrate our shared goals of global prosperity into a common international system that resists external pressures,” he said.
“Pakistan, as a country at the crossroads of economic and strategic conflict, is addressing these shared challenges through our partnership in our immediate region and in the international community,” Geo News reported.
